NUANCES OF TRADITIONAL INDIAN ARTS BEING TAUGHT AT THE CITY PALACE
In the one-month Cultural Heritage Training Camp being organised at the City Palace, the children and the youth of the city are getting acquainted with the nuances of traditional Indian arts. This camp aims to introduce the young generation to the culture, rich art and crafts of India. The camp is being organised by Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum Trust in collaboration with ‘Rangreet Art School’ and ‘Saraswati Kala Kendra’. The training camp will go on till 21 June.
The Director of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum Trust, Mr Vaibhav Chauhan said that this camp is a testament to the commitment of the Jaipur Royal Family to promote traditional art and culture. It is being organised for the past 26 years. For the first time, the participants are also being taught Vedic Astrology by Brij Mohan Khatri.
He further said that during the camp, Daulat Singh also took the participants on a tour of Jantar Mantar, where they were given detailed knowledge about the history of the well-known monument and the facts related to it.
This training camp is being coordinated by Mr Ramu Ramdev who is also conducting the ‘Traditional Painting’ workshop along with Mr Babulal Marotia. Dr Madhu Bhatt Tailang is conducting the ‘Dhrupad’ workshop; Dr Nathulal Verma is teaching the ‘Araish’ (Fresco) art; Dr Jyoti Bharti Goswami is conducting the Kathak and Folk Dance workshop; Mr R.D. Gaur is teaching students the Flute; Mr Lakshmi Narayan Kumawat is conducting ‘Mandana’ workshop and Mr Ashok is teaching calligraphy.
