ART RESIDENCY SHOWCASE ‘ORIGIN’ ENCHANTS JAIPUR

The exclusive art residency showcase ‘Origin,’ featuring the celebrated London-based multidisciplinary artist Adebayo Bolaji, mesmerized Jaipur’s art connoisseurs. Organized by Sattva Theatre & Art in collaboration with Pirovano Art Management, the event provided an intimate glimpse into Bolaji’s artistic journey through Jaipur, reflecting on cultural differences and shared human experiences. The artist was in Jaipur for a month and created over 25 artworks.
The evening was graced by the crème de la crème of Jaipur, adding to the event’s exclusivity. Guests were treated to an immersive artistic experience, with Bolaji’s evocative paintings serving as the focal point. Complementing the visual feast was the soulful music of folk musicians, whose melodies resonated through the Sattva amphitheater, creating an ambiance of cultural harmony. The architecture, ambience, and design of the venue added an extra dimension of charm, enhancing the connection between the artworks and the audience.
Founder and Director of Sattva Theatre & Art, Renuka Kumar, warmly welcomed the guests, setting the tone for an evening of artistic immersion and cultural exchange. Her gracious hospitality and deep passion for the arts created an inviting atmosphere that resonated with the attendees.
At its core, ‘Origin’ was an artistic exploration of differences, posing thought-provoking questions: does difference separate humanity, or can it serve as a bridge for learning, growth, and freedom of expression? Bolaji’s works challenged these notions, inviting the audience to see diversity as a unifying force rather than a dividing one.
Reflecting on the theme, Bolaji shared, “I grew up different, in circles where culture was often used as a means of separation. Yet, my experiences have shown me that within these differences lies an inherent connectivity that unites us all. The unfamiliar may sometimes induce fear, but my continued exploration reaffirms that difference itself is the thread weaving humanity together.”
Bolaji’s artistic journey was shaped with the guidance of esteemed European art curator Roxana Pirovano, who played a pivotal role in structuring this unique residency experience.
