NIF Global Jaipur & Kamla Poddar Institutes presented Dhaga Couture 2025, a spectacular fashion exhibition to be held from 25th to 27th April 2025 at its Mansarovar, Jaipur campus. This vibrant showcase marked the culmination of six months of intensive work by fashion design students – from initial sketches and research to garment construction, styling showcasing in the Institute’s Annual Fashion show and now, public exhibition and sale. The Inauguration was graced by Shri Pawan Arora, CEO and Managing Editor of First India News. Ms. Manju Sharma, Co-Chairperson and Managing Director of EHCC as adding prestige and encouragement to this student-led celebration of creativity and craftsmanship.
This year’s showcase revolves around the theme “Back to the Roots”, celebrating the cultural heritage of 11 diverse Global Tribes through 14 captivating collections. Key highlights include: A rich tapestry of global inspirations, including Rabari Revival with Gujarat’s iconic mirror work, Kohima showcasing bold Naga weaves from Northeast India, and Tuaregs highlighting indigo-dyed desert garments of North African nomads. Afro Amandla brings vibrant African beadwork and silhouettes, while Rainforest Rhythm draws from Amazonian tribal textures. Inking the Soul explores tribal tattoo storytelling through fabric patterns. The showcase also reimagines cultural narratives from Japan, Spain’s Basque region, the Navajo tribe, Aboriginal Australia, and the Maasai of Africa—each collection blending heritage with contemporary fashion. REAL-WORLD LEARNING EXPERIENCE: Dhaga Couture isn’t just a display — it’s a learning platform. The event is designed to give students of Fashion Design a complete hands-on experience in
the lifecycle of fashion: from conceptualizing designs, constructing garments, and now to exhibiting and selling them. This practical exposure aims to bridge the gap between classroom theory and the real-world fashion industry. By directly interacting with visitors and potential buyers, students learn valuable skills in client communication, brand presentation, and professional client management— skills that are critical for emerging designers in today’s fashion economy.
