
The birth anniversary (Prakash Parv) of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder and first Guru of Sikhism, was celebrated with great enthusiasm by member of Bani Park’s Sukhmani Sewa Society at Umang School along with its special children. Umang, based in Jaipur, is a school dedicated to children with special needs. The celebration was organised by the members of the Society at the invitation of Trustee and Founder of Umang School, Ms. Deepak Kalra. During the event, Ms. Pinky Singh of Sukhmani Sewa Society shared brief insights with the children about the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The members together recited shabads such as ‘Sab Te Wada Satgur Nanak’, ‘Kal Taaran Gur Nanak Aaya’ and ‘Mul Khareedi Lala Gola’. Later, Mr. Surya Uday Singh from the Society narrated the life stories of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, including ‘Makka Ghumaya’ and ‘Saccha Sauda’.
The programme concluded with an Ardaas (prayer) for the prosperity and good health of the children of Umang Parivar. Following the prayers, Society members Arvinder Kaur, Harpreet Kaur, Taranjit Kaur and Pushpinder Kaur visited each classroom to distribute Prasad. The Umang family expressed heartfelt gratitude to the members of the Society for organising the meaningful celebration. Earlier, in honour of the Prakash Parv, the Society’s Paath Group ‘Apni Mehr Kar’ collectively recited 6,275 Japji Sahib Paaths.
