FHTR BEGINS PREPARATIONS FOR MARWAR TRAVEL MART 2026 IN JODHPUR

Jaipur : Federation of Hospitality & Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR) has formally initiated preparations for the Marwar Travel Mart (MTM) 2026 following a two-day strategic visit to Jodhpur and Marwar Thar region. The visit, held on June 30 and July 1, brought together the state’s leading tourism stakeholders to chart the roadmap for the Marwar Travel Mart Jodhpur, which will be held in Jodhpur from September 20 to 22, 2026.

FHTR delegation visited Osian to review the desert tourism experiences that will be curated for the visiting travel fraternity during the Marwar Travel Mart 2026. The delegation assessed the region’s desert safaris, cultural performances, heritage attractions, and authentic rural hospitality to ensure that buyers and delegates receive an immersive experience showcasing the unique charm of the Thar Desert.

During the visit, the delegation also held an extensive joint meetings with Jodhpur representatives of apex tourism bodies IHHA, JHARA and TAAJ to finalize the event’s organizational framework, promotional strategy and operational roadmap.

The proposed travel mart aims to position Jodhpur along with Marwar Thar region as one of India’s leading destinations for heritage, luxury, rural, sustainable and desert tourism. The event is expected to attract buyers, tour operators, travel professionals and hospitality leaders from across the country, creating new business opportunities while showcasing the rich cultural and tourism assets of western Rajasthan.

The delegation concluded its visit with a high-level meeting at the historic Umaid Bhawan Palace in the gracious presence of Maharaja Gaj Singh II, Chief Patron of FHTR. The meeting focused on strengthening institutional support and ensuring coordinated efforts for the successful organisation of the first-ever Marwar Travel Mart.

The preparations are being jointly arranged under the leadership of Mr. Surendra Singh Shahpura, President, FHTR and Mr. J. M. Boob, President, Jodhana Hotels & Restaurants Society (JHARA). The delegation also included Mr. Mahendra Singh Rathore, President, Rajasthan Association of Tour Operators (RATO); Mr. Gajraj Singh Shekhawat, President, Travel Agents Association of Jodhpur (TAAJ); Mr. Narendra Singh Rathore, President, Travel Guides Federation of India (TGFI); Mr. Rajendra Singh Pachar, Senior Vice President, FHTR; Mr. Tarun Bansal, General Secretary, FHTR and Immediate Past President HRAR; Mr. Rajendra Singh Jodha, Treasurer, FHTR; Mr. Kuldeep Singh Chandela, Former President, FHTR; Mr. Vipin Panwar, Treasurer, JHARA; Mr. Jugal Jakhar, Vice President, JHARA; and Mr. Raghuvendra Pratap Singh, representing the Indian Heritage Hotels Association (IHHA).

The delegation reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, industry associations and local stakeholders to make the Marwar Travel Mart a landmark event for the state’s tourism sector.
