HEALTH AWARENESS SESSION ORGANISED FOR SENIOR CITIZENS

Jaipur, A health awareness session was organised for senior citizens in Jaipur, with around 50 members of the Time Bank of India Trust participating enthusiastically. The session was organised by Santokba Durlabhji Memorial Hospital (SDMH), in association with the Time Bank of India Trust, at the Mini Plex of Manglam Ananda Club House in Jaipur. The session was led by Consultant and Head of the Department of Geriatric Medicine at SDMH, Dr. Rishav Bansal, who addressed several important aspects of healthy ageing and senior citizen healthcare.
Dr. Bansal spoke about geriatric vaccination and its importance in preventing infections and maintaining health in older adults, along with the significance of regular and comprehensive geriatric health check-ups. He also briefed the participants about the Geriatric Health Check-up Package available at SDMH, designed to support preventive healthcare and early identification of age-related health concerns.
Other key topics included fall prevention, maintaining physical health and independence with advancing age, preventive healthcare, and healthy ageing practices. The discussion focused on practical measures that senior citizens can incorporate into their daily lives to remain active, independent and healthier.
The session was highly interactive, with participants actively engaging with the expert and raising a wide range of questions related to their health and wellbeing. Dr. Bansal addressed the queries and provided practical, expert guidance, making the session informative as well as engaging for the attendees.
The session concluded with an emphasis on proactive healthcare, preventive measures and healthy ageing. The initiative provided senior citizens with valuable insights and an opportunity to interact directly with a geriatric care expert, reinforcing SDMH’s commitment to promoting healthier and more informed ageing in the community.
