DHARA SHAKTI FOUNDATION LAUNCHES MHM TRAINING PROGRAM ON 4TH ANNIVERSARY

Jaipur, 13 August: In celebration of its 4th anniversary, the Dhara Shakti Foundation (DSF) has introduced a pioneering two-day menstrual hygiene management (MHM) training program in Jaipur. This workshop gathered 12 dedicated women from various districts across Rajasthan, who are now poised to become agents of change, promoting menstrual hygiene education in their communities.

The newly launched DSF Period Changemakers initiative aims to cultivate a new generation of menstrual hygiene trainers. By equipping these changemakers with crucial knowledge and skills, DSF anticipates a ripple effect that will benefit an estimated 10,000 women across more than 8 districts in Rajasthan. The training program included the distribution of reusable menstrual hygiene kits by Project Baala, each containing three reusable pads designed to last up to two years. This approach not only reduces financial burdens but also supports sustainability.

“By providing women in Rajasthan with vital knowledge about menstrual hygiene and reproductive health, we are addressing pressing health issues and fostering a more resilient community. Our mission is to dismantle the stigma surrounding menstruation and reproductive health, empowering women to make informed decisions and actively participate in the development of Rajasthan. Through this initiative, we aim to create a generation of confident women who can drive positive change in their communities,” said Devika Shekawat, Founder of Dhara Shakti Foundation.

The Dhara Shakti Foundation remains committed to fostering a healthier and more equitable society. The newly trained changemakers will work diligently to reach underserved areas where access to menstrual hygiene information and products is limited. By building a robust network of empowered women, DSF aims to make a lasting impact on menstrual health and overall well-being for women and girls.
