CUTS International and JECRC University Sign MoU to Foster Innovative Learning

In a significant step towards a transformative collaboration to advance education beyond traditional classrooms, CUTS International and JECRC University, Jaipur, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in a ceremony in July 2025. Speaking at the event, Prof. Victor Gambhir, Vice Chancellor noted, “JECRC students will gain unparalleled exposure to policymaking through CUTS’ expertise, fostering skills that transcend academic boundaries.” Mr. Pradeep S Mehta, Secretary General of globally prominent organization – CUTS International, “CUTS is thrilled to partner with JECRC University to nurture a new generation of thinkers and leaders. The spirit is more important than the letter.”

Jaipur Engineering College and Research Centre (JECRC) University Jaipur, is a premier institution dedicated to holistic education and innovation since year 2000. While CUTS (Consumer Unity & Trust Society) International, is a 42-year old global public policy, research and advocacy group engaged in issues of rules-based trade and development, effective regulation, and good governance.

The signing took place during a physical meeting attended by distinguished representatives from both institutions. From JECRC University, key dignitaries included President/Vice Chancellor Prof. Victor Gambhir, Registrar Shri S.L. Agarwal, Director of Digital Strategies Mr. Dheemant Agarwal, Director of Collaborations Dr. Manish Jain, and Associate Dean of Liberal Studies Dr. Anju Gupta among others. Representing CUTS International were Secretary General Pradeep S. Mehta, Associate Director Purushendra Singh, Policy Analyst Samridh Shastry, and Senior Research Associate Anjali Shekhawat and Grp Captain Ravi Raghav (Retd.), Member of CUTS Brain Trust.

The MoU emphasises experiential learning, equipping students with practical skills for real-world challenges. Prof. Victor Gambhir highlighted the partnership’s potential, stating, “JECRC students will gain unparalleled exposure to policymaking through CUTS’ expertise, fostering skills that transcend academic boundaries.”

Key focus areas include organising international conferences, capacity-building programs for faculty and students, governance and development research, and expert lectures. This collaboration aims to bridge academia and policy, empowering students to engage with global issues like trade, sustainability, and governance.
