Renowned educator, AI coach, and mentor Aparna Dhir Katyal conducted a first of its kind AI awareness workshop titled ‘Balancing the Future Code’ on Sunday at House of Hidden Treasures. Aparna organized this workshop in collaboration with her student, Anaya Agarwal from Pathways School, Gurugram. This was the first mentor–student collaboration of its kind, where participants from different age groups enthusiastically took part. The workshop aimed at raising awareness about Artificial Intelligence (AI), providing a basic understanding of it, and showcasing its practical applications.
The workshop was designed around three major age groups. The first group, ‘Young Explorers’ (ages 7 to 10), engaged in activities like building robots and exploring AI vs. non-AI games. The second group, ‘Tech Explorers’ (ages 10 to 14), was introduced to fun challenges and various popular AI tools like Perplexity, Leonardo, Canva AI, Gamma AI, etc. learning how these tools can not only support their academics but also enhance their creativity. For the third group, ‘Smart Innovators’ (ages 15 and above), the focus was on prompt engineering, creative thinking, and advanced applications of AI.
During the workshop, the basic concepts of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning were also explained. In addition, participants were given an introduction to Natural Language Processing (NLP), helping them understand how AI interprets and uses language. They also discovered several AI tools and platforms that can be applied in their daily studies and creative pursuits.
At the end of the workshop, all participants were presented with special AI goodie bags.
