DEPUTY CM DIYA KUMARI PRESENTED WITH POETRY COLLECTION

Rajasthan’s Deputy CM, Diya Kumari, was presented with the second poetry anthology ‘When Gods Don’t Matter’ by Jaipur-based publicist and poet Jagdeep Singh at her office in Civil Lines. On the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said, “This poetry collection is an apt portrayal of sensitivity and human experiences. I extend my congratulations and best wishes to Jagdeep Singh for this creative work.”

OSD (Art & Culture), City Palace, Ramu Ramdev, was also present on the occasion. Written over a span of four years, this collection of 50 free-verse poems reflect Jagdeep’s deeply personal and worldly experiences — from the anguish of the Covid times to unrequited love, nostalgia, insomnia and the sheer absurdities of everyday existence. It is to be noted that Singh’s first collection, ‘My Epitaph’, published in 2021, received widespread critical acclaim. It was recognised by the prestigious ‘Journal of Commonwealth Literature’ as one of the most interesting debut collections of Indo-English poetry in 2020-2021.
