PRCI Jaipur Chapter Hosts National and International Panel Discussion on World Public Relations Day

Jaipur, July 16: Public relations is not merely the exchange of information; it is a continuous process of building trust, fostering dialogue, and nurturing long-term relationships. Reflecting this philosophy, the Jaipur Chapter of the W organized a thought-provoking panel discussion on “Influencer Relations vs Traditional Media Relations: Credibility, Reach and the Future of Public Relations” to mark World Public Relations Day 2026.

A key highlight of the programme was the participation of more than 100 public relations professionals representing 63 PRCI chapters across India and 13 countries, who joined the national webinar virtually. Participants shared their perspectives on the evolving nature of public relations, artificial intelligence (AI), digital communication, media credibility, and the emerging challenges and opportunities in global communication.

The Jaipur Chapter’s programme commenced with the live telecast of the national webinar hosted by the PRCI Ahmedabad Chapter. This was followed by an engaging offline panel discussion featuring public relations expert Jagdeep Singh (Jags), renowned radio personality RJ Ravindra, and Marcela Bauer, Founder of Jaipur by Marcela and a lifestyle content creator. The discussion was moderated by Misha Sharma, Account Executive, Adfactors PR.

Speaking on the occasion, Somendra Harsh, Chairman, PRCI Jaipur Chapter, said that the communication landscape is evolving rapidly with the rise of social media, digital platforms and artificial intelligence. However, he emphasized that credibility, transparency and public trust remain the foundation of effective communication. He said that PRCI is committed to integrating emerging technologies into the public relations profession while preserving its core values. He expressed confidence that the PRCI Jaipur Chapter would continue to serve as a strong platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration among industry, media and academic institutions.

Public relations expert Jagdeep Singh (Jags) said that while information travels faster than ever in the digital age, credibility remains paramount. He emphasized that journalism built on editorial values, factual accuracy, accountability and ethics continues to be the cornerstone of effective public relations. Institutions, he added, should focus on earning long-term trust rather than seeking short-term popularity.

Renowned radio personality RJ Ravindra observed that communication platforms continue to evolve with time, but the essence of meaningful communication remains unchanged. From radio to reels, every medium has its own significance, but emotional connection, simple expression and authentic storytelling are what make messages memorable. He remarked that traditional media and digital content creators are not competitors but complementary partners in today’s communication ecosystem.

Lifestyle content creator Marcela Bauer said that today’s audiences are influenced not merely by follower counts but by authenticity, consistency and honest engagement. She noted that a successful influencer is one who builds a strong relationship of trust with their community. Transparent and long-term partnerships between brands and content creators, she said, will shape the future of impactful communication.

Sunny Kulshreshtha, Secretary, PRCI Jaipur Chapter, said that World Public Relations Day is not merely a ceremonial occasion but an important opportunity to reflect on the evolving role of public relations in the rapidly changing global communication landscape.

During the programme, new members of the PRCI Jaipur Chapter were formally welcomed and honoured with PRCI lapel pins and mementoes.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Somendra Harsh, Chairman, PRCI Jaipur Chapter, who expressed his gratitude to the distinguished guests, speakers, participants, media representatives and supporters for making the programme a success.
