
Jaipur, Poornima University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Public Relations Council of India (PRCI), a leading pan-India communication exchange forum headquartered in Bengaluru, to foster academic excellence, industry interaction, and professional development in the fields of Public Relations, Journalism, and Mass Communication. The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Devendra Somwanshi, Registrar, Poornima University, and Shri Somendra Harsh, Chairman, PRCI Jaipur Chapter, on May 15, 2026, in the presence of distinguished academicians and media professionals including Shri Sunny Kulshrestha, Secretary PRCI and Prof. Manjari Rai, Pro President – FDA and FPA, Poornima University and Dr. Jitendra Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Design Arts (FDA), Poornima University.
The coordinators for the MoU are Dr. Aastha Saxena, Head, Journalism and Mass Communication Department, Poornima University, and Dr. Rahul Babu Kodali, Joint Secretary, PRCI. The collaboration aims to strengthen academic and research cooperation between the two institutions for the mutual benefit of students, faculty members, and communication professionals. The partnership will facilitate academic exchanges of industry professionals, teachers, undergraduate and postgraduate students for educational training, internships, consultancy projects, and professional practices in Public Relations and Corporate Communication.
Under the agreement, both organizations will jointly organize workshops, seminars, conferences, symposiums, PR Club activities, event management initiatives, and publication editing projects. The collaboration will also encourage exchange of research publications, educational resources, and professional expertise in the fields of journalism and mass communication.
A major highlight of the MoU is the establishment of a Young Communicators Club (YCC) at Poornima University. The club will operate under the guidance of a university-appointed coordinator and will actively engage students in PRCI activities through leadership, communication, and industry-oriented programs. Representatives from both organizations expressed confidence that this collaboration would create valuable opportunities for students and further strengthen industry-academia engagement in the communication and media sector. The MoU will remain effective for an initial period of three years, with provisions for renewal based on mutual agreement between both parties.
